Tamagotchi. Myspace. RipStiks. A push is currently underway to revive these foregone fads of yesteryear. However, some trends are better left in the past. But what about today’s high-tech gizmos? What are the latest and greatest high tech gadgets out there that will help us big men improve our lives? And will these new-fangled fads withstand the test of time, or should they be relegated to the waste-bin of history? In this article we investigate three of the latest pieces of gadgetry on the market. We will weigh up whether they are a 'yea or nay' when it comes to enhancing our lives as big men.
Big Men Gadget #1 – Smartwatch

Ok, to start this list off we’re going with a gadget that is not too wacky. We’re starting with a piece of wearable high-tech you might already own: the smartwatch. However, there is a lot of variety when it comes to smartwatches. And this is reflected in the variability of their price points too. You could pay anywhere from $39 for an Aldi special all the way up to hundreds of thousands for some top-of-the-line smartwatch bling. However, we like something with a bit more understated machismo. Take the Garmin Instinct Tactical smartwatch for instance. This watch boasts cool functionality that you may never use (but will make you feel like Rambo when you’re wearing it). Indeed, Garmin have engineered this watch to be compatible with night vision goggles. It even features a jumpmaster mode which allows you to calculate the high altitude release point when parachuting. However, we found its heart rate monitor to be our go to function. Its extreme level of accuracy makes it a great training buddy whilst we big men are getting in better shape.
Big Men Gadget #2 – Audio Sunglasses
Don't buy these unless you want to make a spectacle of yourself.
Have you ever looked at a pair of sunglasses and thought to yourself: I know what these need – speakers? No? Well, you’re not alone. That’s why we are perplexed as to the reason the folks at JLab thought that it wise to add “open ear” speakers onto a pair of sunglasses. I don’t know about you but personally I don’t want to go out into public with music-making glasses on my face. Nor do I wish to have those in my immediate vicinity be able to hear whatever I’m listening to. Or listen in on he content of my phone calls, for that matter. JLab promises this is not going to be an issue as their high-tech gadgets beam sound directly into your ear canal. However, it’s not like the ear cavity is a black hole out of which no audio can escape. Indeed, we found that with the music cranked those nearby could still hear the annoying ‘tiss-tiss’ sound emanating from our glasses. Our verdict: not a good look nor great functionality for us big men. Especially if we want to look cool and in control.
Big Men Gadget #3 – Electric Scooter

There is a revolution on the rise in the world of personal transport: the electric scooter. As the number of electric scooter riders grows exponentially so too does the number of great features and advantages they offer. Plus, they are a great way for us big men to express our uniqueness as we get about looking a bit hip. Riding these high-tech gadgets is great for both body and mind.
